Some observations:
- All our post-election coverage here has been by blacks. I suspect that a large number of people voted for Obama because he was black, far more than who voted against him for the same reason. Racism is alive and well, by blacks particularly.
- I used to hope that if elected, Obama would be as ineffective as Clinton. However, one legacy that Clinton left us with is the dire financial crisis because of his expansion of the Community Reinvestment Act—the direct cause of the mortgage meltdown. So Clinton really was somewhat effective. Now I am hope that Obama will be as ineffective as Carter was, but am not really hopeful that he could be.
- I want to punch all my Flickr friends in the face who are posting their inane gleeful Obamagasms. I want to block anyone who does it, but then I would have only a handful of contacts. It is difficult to be civil when I am so gloomy over our prospects for the future.
